Perl ps
I have longed for a way to be able to get system process information for a long time. I don't know if anyone has written something to do this yet or not, but when I goggle for "perl ps" I find responses to similar queries: "why not pipe ps". Well, that doesn't cut it for me.
Charles Parnot wrote up a script that parses ps to some degree, and I greatly extended what he wrote so that it prints out more ps options and works with it in other ways. I'm distributing it as an lib file, but you don't have to use it as such if you don't want.
