If you have ever wanted to write your own songs, you should take this class! Making music is easier than ever before using GarageBand. GarageBand is easy for beginners to start making music. In this class you will learn how to record and edit audio and work with midi files. You'll also learn a composition techniques so that you can write your own song by the end of the day!

All you need to know before taking this class is how to read music, the notes on the piano keyboard, and a basic understanding of scales and key signatures.

You will also get to see what it is like at a University. You'll see the sheet music and CD collection at the Marriott Library. We'll also walk around campus to visit the School of Music building and have a meeting with a professor.

Lunch will not be covered. There are microwaves in the library and we will also walk up to the University Union food court ($10 should be enough to cover lunch there). Bottled water and other snacks will be provided.

Instructor: James Reynolds, Computer Professional, Bachelor of Music, Composition.
