Converting to POV-Ray
(This is what 480 x 360 looks like)
In this video, I convert the mpd file to POV-Ray format and render it.
Download Large Video - 60 minutes, 360 MB, 480 x 360.
Download Small Video - 60 minutes, 163 MB, 320 x 240.
Here is a list of the topics covered:
- Using Anton's converter
- End files with ".mpd" if it has sub-models or ".ldr" otherwise
- Getting Anton's libary
- Rendering the model
- Combining the macros into one file
- Why my first model in MightyMite.mpd is named "scene"
- Including files into the main scene file
- Cleaning up the combined file
- Adding parameters to the macros
- Quick example of using the clock for animation
- Passing parameters from parent macro to child macro and on and on (puppet strings) -- most of the movie is spent doing this!
- x = <1,0,0> y = <0,1,0> z = <0,0,1>
- Using the ranges and rotation axes figured out in previous movies
- Searching www.povray.org for documentation
- Using arrays
Addendum
ARG!! I didn't use the mic again and it is barely audible in some places! ARG! If people really have a hard time hearing parts, PLEASE let me know and I'll either transcribe it or re-record it!
I when adding parameters to the macros, it would have been a lot easier if I had put everything in order from torso to toe. You may want to do something like that if you have to do a similar task.
